- Plan a route or pick a region on the map.
- Tap “Save offline” — map section, elevation data and the route land on the device.
- Start in flight mode: map, route, elevation profile and turn prompts keep working.
- Extra safety: send the same route to your watch, then it works even without the phone.
What works offline — and what cannot
Offline you get the map, the route, the elevation profile, navigation, recording and the path data of the region. What is live by nature cannot be: weather, webcams, avalanche bulletin, timetables and the daily snow layer. Fetch those in the valley before you start.
How much storage?
A valley-sized area is a few dozen megabytes. A whole region runs into the hundreds — which is why Peakflow downloads only the section you choose instead of half the Alps “just in case”.
Battery
Navigating offline saves power because the radio stays idle. For long days: dim the screen, recording continues regardless.

Does the offline map cost anything?
No. In Peakflow saving maps is free — in many other apps it is the main reason for a subscription.
Does recording work without a signal?
Yes. GPS needs no network. The track is stored locally and uploaded later.
How current are offline maps?
They come from the same data as the online map and refresh the next time you open the area with a connection.
